Arla Foods has announced its launch into the cottage cheese category.
Arla Cottage Cheese is available in Natural and Low Fat SKUs in 300g (rsp: £1.90) and 500g (rsp: £3) pot sizes.
The business said that the range was developed for “broad, everyday usage occasions across meals and snacks” and that it had a “clean, creamy taste, with a lightly set, spoonable texture”.
The range is designed to tap into renewed demand for high-protein, versatile dairy and to bring in new shoppers to the category.
Cottage cheese is back on shoppers’ radar for good reasons – taste, versatility and protein,” said Stuart Ibberson, Arla brand director at Arla Foods. “With Arla Cottage Cheese, we’re bringing the reassurance and reach of the Arla masterbrand to help retailers trade the fixture up, recruit younger shoppers and unlock repeat through everyday usage.”
It launched from 5 January, and it will be supported by digital and in-store activation to drive trial and repeat purchase.
“Penetration is building, and the UK still under-indexes versus other markets and adjacent dairy protein categories, so there’s clear runway for future growth,” Ibberson added.
The range has launched into Asda and Sainsburys with Tesco to follow.
Arla has promised additional new flavours and formats later in 2026.
