To mark the launch, the brand has partnered with foodie influencer Sam Jones, aka No Meat Disco to create a Beyond Steak Sandwich recipe.

“Whether you’re tucking into a quick lunch or entertaining friends, Beyond Steak delivers incredible taste, flavour and versatility,” said Ellie Stevens, head of brand UK at Beyond Meat.

“Not to mention the high protein, low saturated fat that people are looking for – with no sacrifice required.”

The pieces are designed for us in sandwiches, wraps, BBQ bowls, curries and stir-fries, said the brand.

“We’re excited to be the first UK retailer to launch Beyond Steak from Beyond Meat,” said Cristina Valeanu, buying manager at Tesco.

“Whether you’re fully plant-based or simply plant curious, this is a great addition to the plant-based selection at Tesco.”

Beyond Steak joins Beyond Meat’s wider UK portfolio, which also includes the Beyond Burger, Beyond Sausage and spicy Beyond Burger Jalapeño.
