Burger King UK has launched a new sharing range, Burger Buddies, featuring snackable portions of its most popular menu items in one box.
Launching nationwide this week, the Burger Buddies boxes, available in portions of three or nine, feature snack-size versions of the Whopper, the Big King, and the BBQ Steakhouse.
The launch comes ahead of the summer season, “designed for park picnics, football watch parties and summer get-togethers”, Burger King said.
To mark the launch, the fast food chain is rolling out a delivery exclusive sharing bundle for 15 people, which features 45 snackable burgers, eight Large Fries, 10 Chicken Fries, 10 Chicken Nuggets, 10 Chilli Cheese Bites, 10 Onion Rings, and four dip pots.
While new to the UK menu, the launch follows similar rollouts in other European countries, with France having launched ‘Baby Burgers’ last July.
Earlier this year, the same concept was launched in Spain and Germany, offering miniature versions of bestselling burgers in portions of three or nine per box.
The new sharing range in the UK comes as the food-to-go chain plans new restaurant openings and further growth opportunities after securing a £60m financing deal.
Last month, people close to Burger King told Sky News that Metro Bank and OakNorth are understood to be lending the UK business £30m each, adding to a further £30m of funding committed in the financial year by Burger King UK’s owner, private equity firm Bridgepoint.
Burger King UK currently operates almost 600 restaurants, with this backing giving the chain “the platform to execute our expansion plans with further conviction”, said CEO Alasdair Murdoch at the time.
