Treets will launch in the UK with a trio of vegan lines

Candy Kittens has brought German confectionery brand and Katjes stablemate Treets to the UK through its new brand platform.

Treets has launched a trio of 120g packs (rsp: £2.20) – Crunchy Corn, Salted Peanuts and Crispy – under Candy Kittens Introduces, “a curated platform designed to introduce the finest plant-powered snacks from around the globe to UK consumers”.

All three products are vegan and coated with cocoa-free chocolate alternative ChoViva, which is made from sunflower seeds. Crispy comprises crunchy balls, coated in Choviva’s chocolate alternative and colourful outer sugar shells.

Treets’ UK range differs from its portfolio in Germany, which includes just one vegan product: peanuts coated in ChoViva’s chocolate alternative and a crispy sugar shell.

While UK packs are co-branded, Treets will “operate as its own brand, with dedicated social channels, campaigns, and product experiences”, said Candy Kittens.

The range will launch into Boots and Ocado, and DTC via Candy Kittens’ webstore this month.

“Treets is everything we believe a modern confectionery brand should be: vegan, innovative, and very delicious,” said Candy Kittens founder Jamie Laing.

This isn’t Candy Kittens’ first co-branded launch. Last month it teamed up with Katjes stablemate Genius to launch a vegan and gluten-free rocky road into Morrisons and Ocado.

Meanwhile, ChoViva made its UK grocery debut earlier this year through a seasonal tie-up with Aldi. It launched Peanut Butter Mini Eggs (rsp: £1.49/90g) into stores under the discounter’s private label Dairyfine, ahead of Easter.
