Private label and Cadbury ice cream manufacturer Fredericks Dairies has created a new position as part of its drive to become number two in its marketplace, making David Taylor deputy managing director.
Since joining Fredericks at the beginning of 2000, Taylor has held the position of trading director, responsible for impulse & foodservice sales development.
Fredericks Dairies has been manufacturing and marketing Cadbury ice-cream for four years and, with sales in 2002 expected to top £70m, it claims to be a clear third in the marketplace.
Taylor said: "We have seen superb growth over the last three years, thanks to a strong and stable team, which has enabled us to capitalise on the dramatic changes in the market.
"Our plans for 2003 will see us make a significant move towards our goal of being the second largest ice-cream brand in the UK."
