Deliveroo has struck an exclusive partnership deal with The Entertainer, marking the first time a national toy retailer has been available on the aggregator app.

An initial five The Entertainer stores are available to shop from on the app, with plans to roll out to more than 40 locations in the coming weeks.

The partnership was an answer to the “last-minute panic over forgotten presents” for “parents and last-minute shoppers alike” Deliveroo said.

“At Deliveroo, our priority is to bring the best of the local high street to our customers’ doors, and this partnership does just that,” said Suzy McClintock, VP of new verticals at Deliveroo.

“The Entertainer is the UK’s largest independent toy retailer, and we’re proud to be partnering with such a prestigious retailer to provide our customers with the best-in-class of toys, games and gifts, just in time for the festive season,” she added.

Deliveroo users have access to on-demand delivery of nearly 5,000 of The Entertainer’s products, arriving at their front door in as little as 30 minutes.

The deal gives shoppers a “brand-new and even quicker way to buy the toys and games they love, in a first for both brands” said Andrew Murphy, CEO of The Entertainer.

“As the UK’s most convenient toy retailer with over 1,000 concessions, we’re incredibly proud to add Deliveroo to our growing selection of ’Toy Box’ partners,” he added. “We are confident this partnership will drive growth for both brands, opening up new opportunities for customers to buy our exciting range of toys for every budget in the run-up to Christmas, and beyond.”

Deliveroo made its move beyond takeaways and grocery in 2023, with the launch of a non-food retail offer – Deliveroo Shopping – allowing consumers to “seamlessly order a range of retail products, from electronics to petfood and flowers to toys”.

It has since welcomed major high street brands including Boots, B&Q, Not On The High Street and Ann Summers on to the platform, alongside thousands of independent retailers.

The selection of non-food retailers also includes luxury fragrances from The Perfume Shop, high-end fashion rental via Hurr, and accessories from Accessorize.
