Rum brand Duppy Share has set a Guinness World Record for the largest alcoholic punch ever made.
The brand created a giant 1,000-litre bowl and filled it with enough rum punch to serve over 5,000 festival-goers at Reggae Land festival in Milton Keynes last weekend.
The official world record was confirmed on the opening day of the festival by Guinness World Record Holders adjudicator Pravin Patel.
The record cemented “Duppy Share’s place at the heart of UK rum culture”, the supplier claimed.
Duppy Share founder George Frost said: “We’ve always believed rum punch is the ultimate sharing serve – and what better way to bring people together than with the biggest bowl of rum punch the world has ever seen? To break a world record in partnership with Reggae Land feels like a true celebration of the culture, spirit and joy of rum.”
Reggae Land festival director Brian Murphy added: “Reggae Land is all about celebrating Caribbean culture and this world record with Duppy Share added something truly special to this year’s event. Thousands of our guests got to taste history – and they loved every drop!”
Over the course of the Reggae Land festival, Duppy Share said it had sold 5,000 rum punches at its rum bar activation, alongside 4,000 bottles sold at other bars on site.
The brand has partnered with Old Jamaica Ginger Beer to bring its rum to over 20 events and festivals this summer.
