Greggs has expanded its partnership with surplus food platform Too Good To Go to launch hot food ‘Greggs Grab Bags’.
Available for collection daily across more than 1,800 shops nationwide, the new ‘Greggs Grab Bags’ will include products such as Chicken Goujons, Cheese Bites and Potato Wedges from £2.99.
They can be collected throughout the day as the shelf life of hot-to-go items ends every two hours.
The offer is different to the Greggs ‘Surprise Bags’, which are only available at the end of the day and early morning. These include unsold items such as bakes and sandwiches and are available in around 900 Greggs shops.
Through Too Good To Go’s partnership with Greggs, over five million Surprise Bags have been saved from going to waste.
Customers can reserve the hot food bags through the Too Good To Go app, pay in advance and collect it from their chosen Greggs shop. The contents of each bag will vary depending on the surplus food available that day.
“We’re always looking for ways to make sure our food is enjoyed, not wasted – and in partnership with Too Good To Go, the Greggs Grab Bags are a brilliant solution,” said Greggs retail operations director Gillian Long.
“Working in partnership, our customers can pick up hot food they love for less, while helping us reduce our environmental impact. It’s good for our customers, good for our business, and good for the planet.”
Too Good To Go UK and Ireland country director Sophie Trueman added: “Greggs Grab Bags are a fantastic way for people to enjoy Greggs favourites such as Chicken Goujons or Cheese Bites, while making a real difference in the fight against food waste.
“By partnering with Greggs to launch the new offering nationwide, we’re making it even easier for customers to rescue delicious food at great value – and every Greggs Grab Bag collected is another step towards a planet with no food waste.”
