Andrew Sugden and Beth Langley

Contract caterer HCL has appointed a new operations director and a new commercial director as the company embarks on a five-year growth strategy.

HCL, which specialises in education catering, has appointed former Nespresso UK&I B2B commercial director Beth Langley as its new commercial boss.

She brings experience in directly managing sales and marketing teams, and driving sales across Europe for major coffee brands to the role.

Meanwhile, Andrew Sugden, who has been with HCL for 15 years and most recently held the title of head of food, procurement and IT, has been promoted to operations director.

The appointments come at a pivotal time for the contract caterer, which has set out plans to expand its school meal service across the south of England and grow its influence within the education catering space.

“Andrew’s promotion to operations director is a testament to his dedication and expertise gained over 15 years with HCL,” said HCL CEO John Want. “His deep understanding of our operations will be invaluable as we execute our ambitious growth plans.”

“We are also delighted to welcome Beth Langley as our new Commercial Director. Her extensive experience in delivering sales growth will be instrumental in expanding our market presence and achieving our goal of doubling our meal numbers in the next five years.”
