Contract caterer HCL is launching Street Eats, its first fully branded street food-style service for schools.
Rolling out now across HCL-catered schools in the southeast, the service features nine distinct sub-brands offering “diverse global culinary experiences”, the caterer said.
This includes Umami – Taste of Asia, Stack & Bun – American Inspired Burgers, Dough Street – Artisan Pizza, Chick’n Shop – Fried Chicken, Wrap’d – Global Wraps, Mezze – Middle Eastern Flavours, Rollin Frank – Hotdogs, The Curry Pot – South Asian Cuisine, and Dom Piri – Portuguese Flame-Grilled.
Developed in-house over the past year, the selection has been informed by market research and student feedback, which found there has been a 59% rise in major food outlets near schools over the past decade.
“Street Eats is all about bringing the energy and excitement of the high street into our secondary schools,” said HCL head of food David Stanley.
“We’ve created bold, flavour-packed concepts that not only look and taste great but also reflect the diversity and creativity of global street food. It’s food students want to eat and food we’re proud to serve.”
