Kerrygold has launched its Kerrygold Cream Cheese into the UK market for the first time.

The product is made from clean ingredients including milk from Irish grass-fed cows to deliver a “rich, natural taste and smooth texture”, according to the Irish dairy brand.

Kerrygold Cream Cheese (rsp: £2.50/180g) has been designed “as the perfect accompaniment for bagels and an indulgent complement to breakfasts”.

The brand said the launch would enhance the consumer experience while reaching new consumers with Irish grass-fed dairy.

“In line with our mission of driving the brand’s Irish grass-fed difference in more categories, we are excited to introduce Kerrygold Cream Cheese to the UK,” said Nicola Blackmore-Squires, Ornua Foods UK marketing director. “Like our famous butter, Kerrygold Cream Cheese is made from the milk of Irish grass-fed cows, which gives it a unique, flavourful, indulgent taste and smooth creamy texture.

“By leveraging Kerrygold’s values of naturalness, simplicity and demonstrable provenance we believe our latest launch will be ‘the new gold standard in cream cheese’.”

Research from parent company Ornua found that three out of four Kerrygold shoppers already bought cream cheese and were willing to pay more for quality, while they also valued clean label and natural propositions.

The SKU will launch into Sainsbury’s stores from 22 April and Morrisons in May, with more listings to come later in the year.

The launch will be supported by a comprehensive above and below the line marketing campaign.
