Regional wholesalers Kff and Medina Foodservice have appointed Neil Williams as their new managing director.

Williams previously spent more than 10 years in various roles at sister company Brakes, most recently as regional sales director. He brings to the role experience in both customer-facing and operational positions.

Kent-based Kff and Medina Foodservice, which operates from depots on the Isle of Wight and Southampton, are both subsidiaries of US foodservice giant Sysco, which is the parent company of Brakes.

They specialise in providing food to local pubs, restaurants and schools, and have a particular emphasis on supplying products from regional producers in their locations.

“I am very excited by the opportunity to lead these two exceptional businesses,” said Williams. ”They have fantastic reputations for customer service and product quality.

“As part of Sysco, the businesses have the backing and investment to continue to grow and develop and I’m looking forward to being part of that.”

Williams will replace Mark Taylor, who is moving to another role within Sysco GB.

The appointment comes as Medina Foodservice has expanded its range with the launch of 250 new products, including locally sourced items, own-label lines and national brands.

In boosting local producers, Medina has become the first wholesaler for the Isle of Wight’s Homemade Brownie Company, which will now have access to a range of new customers.
