The battle to offer the best-value Christmas feast has become a recurring event in recent years, as supermarkets play chicken at who can go lowest on the turkey and festive staples. Last year the promised prices reached less than £1.50 a head, while Christmas veg was dropped to 5p per item.
Lidl has set the bar early – and low – with its 2026 deal. Its Christmas dinner deal prices are for all shoppers, not just Lidl Plus members.

“With household budgets remaining under pressure, we’re on a mission to deliver unbeatable festive value to our shoppers this Christmas,” said Lidl GB chief commercial officer Richard Bourns.
“By pricing a complete Christmas dinner at less than £1.40 per head, we’re giving reassurance from the very start of the season that we won’t be beaten on price, and we won’t compromise on quality.
“We’ve already invested £400m in lowering prices this year, and we aren’t stopping there. Between additional price cuts and a further £75m in Lidl Plus savings in the run-up to Christmas, we’re making sure British families get the value they deserve. No guesswork, no festive price shock – just unbeatable value, locked in.
“Crucially, that value never comes at the expense of producers and every penny of our seasonalpromotions is funded directly by us. That means we guarantee our farmers the same full, fair, contracted price they rely on throughout the season.”
