Moth has added a decaf version of its Espresso Martini ahead of Christmas.
The NPD, which is in Sainsbury’s now (rsp: £4/125ml) promises “the smooth, bitter, delicately balanced flavour of the original Moth favourite”, without the caffeine.
“The Espresso Martini has become the nation’s favourite late-night order but there’s always been a catch; one too many and you’re staring at the ceiling into the night,” said Moth co-founder Rob Wallis.
Moth had decided to launch its decaf espresso martini after its own survey data showed half of coffee consumers were now drinking decaf weekly, said Wallis [Attest, 2026].
The Moth Decaf Espresso Martini is made using Wood Brothers vodka, coffee liqueur and cold brew espresso.
It offered “the same rich coffee, the same silky finish and the same Moth quality, just without the sleepless night afterwards,” said Wallis.
“Great cocktails should fit around your life, not the other way round,” he added.
The launch caps a busy year for Moth, which closed an £11m funding round in July, aimed at funding growth at home and abroad.
In February, the brand expanded its lineup with the launch of Mango Margarita and Strawberry Daiquiri serves.
Moth is not alone in launching a decaf espresso martini this winter. Last month, M&S added a “high-street first” Decaf Madagascan Vanilla Espresso Martini as part of a shake-up of its festive drinks offer.
