MyWaitrose offers made available to Deliveroo shoppers

Waitrose has linked up with Deliveroo to allow members of its loyalty scheme to access offers when they use the rapid delivery provider.

The supermarket said shoppers could now link their MyWaitrose membership to their Deliveroo account and is expecting the channel to be a key sales driver in the run-up to Christmas and over the festive period as whole.

Waitrose said its total on-demand orders were up 100% last Christmas compared with the previous year.

“We’re getting ready for a busy on-demand shopping Christmas,” said director of online Laura Burbedge. “We’ve employed more partners in our shops to quickly shop for customers ordering on demand, ensuring we offer them the outstanding service they expect from Waitrose.

“It’s great to be able to start rewarding our food-loving MyWaitrose customers shopping on Deliveroo with offers in time for Christmas entertaining. To start making savings, customers just need to link their MyWaitrose account to their Deliveroo account.”

Suzy McClintock, VP of new verticals at Deliveroo, added: “We’re proud to be strengthening our long-standing partnership with Waitrose just in time for one of the busiest times of the year. We know that customers rely on Deliveroo for rapid grocery delivery, especially when the festive season is in full swing. By linking their MyWaitrose accounts, it’s easier and more rewarding than ever for customers to get those essential, high-quality Christmas treats and last-minute essentials delivered straight to their door.”

Current offers available for MyWaitrose members include 20% off selected Charlie Bigham’s ready meals, 40% off Innocent Pure Smooth Orange Fruit Juice 900ml and 25% off No.1 Scottish Salmon Gravadlax 120g.

The loyalty tie-up with Deliveroo follows a similar move by Waitrose with Uber Eats in June.
