Grower Nationwide Produce has acquired local rival EuroFresh Evesham.
The purchase of “competitor around the corner” EuroFresh marks the first acquisition in the fresh produce grower, supplier and trader’s 50-year-history, according to Nationwide Produce chairman Tim O’Malley.
The deal will see Nationwide Produce take on a third refrigerated depot on The Vale Park Estate in Evesham, Worcestershire, along with a fleet of refrigerated vehicles. It comes as the group looks to extend and increase its geographical delivery area in the UK and Ireland.
”We keep running out of space in Evesham, which is perhaps not such a bad thing, although it creates operational challenges,” said O’Malley.
“The name over the door will change to Nationwide Produce Plc and all future business will be conducted under the same name,” he continued. “We see this as a good move for the group, not only strategically but also operationally.”
A subsidiary of Nationwide Produce Holdings, the company’s subdivisions include Vitaal Europe, Vitaal fruit, Nationwide Espana and Richmond Farms.
The decision to acquire EuroFresh Ltd Evesham comes following a bumper 2024/25 for Nationwide Produce, which saw its turnover jump by 9.5% from £186.3m to £204.03m, and its operating profit increase 17.7% from £4.08m to £4.8m, in the year to 30 May 2025.
O’Malley added: “It will give us much needed extra space, lorries and staff in order to continue to provide our customers with the high service levels they’ve become accustomed to.”
