Actor Ncuti Gatwa has invested in functional soft drinks brand Punchy.
The Sex Education and Doctor Who star would “support Punchy as it expands its retail footprint, launches new flavours, and continues to connect with consumers”, the brand said in a statement.
“Ncuti’s support means a huge amount to us,” said Punchy founder Paddy Cavanagh-Butler. “Hydration has lived for too long in the world of sport and ‘performance’ – but most of us just want to feel good and function better day to day.
“Punchy exists to take hydration out of that niche space and put it into everyday life, without sacrificing flavour or personality. Ncuti is the perfect fit for what a ‘Punchy person’ stands for: creative, vibrant, and building a life at full volume.”
Gatwa added: “Punchy immediately stood out to me as a brand that genuinely excites me. It’s an incredible product, and hydration fits naturally into my day to day, with how busy life can get on and off stage.
“I found Punchy first and foremost as a consumer, and I’m delighted to now be supporting the team on their growth journey.”
Sales of Punchy’s hydration range grew by 308% in 2025, driven by new nationwide listings with Waitrose, Sainsbury’s and Holland & Barrett, according to the brand.
In May, the brand extended into hydration sachets, adding a Tropical line via DTC.
