The bundles are available on a first-come, first-served basis

Ocado is launching football-inspired delivery bundles to arrive at half time during England’s first three World Cup games.

The bundles will be available to order in London and Manchester for each of England’s group stage games on 17, 23 and 27 June.

Booking goes live at 12pm two days before each game and allows the consumer to choose from one of three “football-inspired” bundles, Ocado said.

These involve the Best of British bundle, which features classics including Willy’s Pork Pies, M&S Collection Ultimate Sharing Sausage Roll, and English Breakfast Tea from Teapigs.

There is also the Host Nation Hotlist which focuses on American flavours, including Mexican Beef Birria Tacos and American Pop Tarts, and the Global Flavours bundle, which is inspired by cuisines including France, Spain, Japan and Australia, including Arnotts Pizza Shapes and Itsu Korean BBQ Gyoza.

The bundles are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Deliveries will be made during the 15-minute half-time window of each of England’s first three games (9.45-10pm and 10.45-11pm), with dedicated drivers making these deliveries outside of their normal schedules, Ocado added.

It follows new research by Ocado revealing that 69% of Brits missed an iconic football moment after stepping away from the screen at the wrong time.

As part of the campaign, Ocado teamed up with Harry Redknapp, which saw the former football manager giving an “emphatic pep talk to the delivery service’s iconic drivers” ahead of their half-time shifts.

“Most football fans will be watching the tournament from homes this year, and whether that be a full house of family and friends, or a more quiet affair, Ocado is here to help everyone enjoy the tournament in their own way – and most importantly, ensure they don’t miss out on a moment of the action,” said Ocado Retail chief customer officer Dan Elton.

“Working with football legend Harry Redknapp to motivate our drivers this summer has been great fun, and they’re all feeling freshly inspired and ready to deliver food for the fans in the coming weeks. Ocado’s unbeatable range of British favourites and global flavours also ensures all tastes are catered for, and all conveniently delivered straight to your door.”

Redknapp said: “Football’s always been about bringing people together – you get your mates round, stick the game on, have some good food, a few drinks, all set for the big match. And Ocado knows match days aren’t just about what happens on the pitch, it’s all about delivering food for the fans too.

“I absolutely loved working with the Ocado drivers and giving them a half-time team talk. What they do is just like football – you need positive energy, great timing, and everyone pulling together. If you can deliver under pressure on match day, you’re my kind of player.”
