The newly created role aims to demonstrate the Post Office’s commitment to generate more revenue for postmasters

The Post Office has hired Dominic Grounsell as its chief revenue officer.

The newly created role marks its commitment to generate more revenue for postmasters, spanning 11,000 branches, as part of the Transformation Plan announced in November, according to the Post Office.

Alongside strengthening their commercial offer, Grounsell will be responsible for boosting postmaster revenue from its two core product areas: mails & parcels and cash & banking – which together make up 80% of a postmaster’s income.

He will also be overseeing the rollouts of various technologies across branches to improve efficiency for postmasters and customers, including new self-service kiosks and automated cash services.

Grounsell was previously chief commercial officer of FTSE 50 company Entain, where he led a diverse portfolio of online business units. His aim was to “drive digital transformation and embedded cutting-edge analytics, AI and machine learning to enhance customer engagement, product development and market expansion”.

Prior to that, he held senior commercial and marketing roles for Travelex, RSA, Capital One, BT and Unilever. He started his new role at the Post Office last month.

“I’m extremely excited to have joined the Post Office, one of the UK’s oldest and most recognised brands that plays a vital role on the high street,” Grounsell told The Grocer.

“The Post Office provides crucial services to our customers which we are keen to expand and build upon and continue to offer them the best service possible, which will help increase postmaster income.”
