Superdrug is to open 30 new stores across the UK in 2026, creating about 600 jobs.
The health & beauty retailer said it continued to see strong demand for experience-led physical retail, and was reinforcing its commitment to bricks & mortar shops.
The expansion programme will include new large-format destination Superdrug stores and retail park locations. Confirmed locations in Scotland include Dundee Gallagher Retail Park, Kilmarnock Retail Park, East Kilbride, Strathkelvin Retail Park and Linwood Phoenix Retail Park. In England, new sites will include White Rose Leeds, Crawley, Waterlooville Retail Park and the Isle of Wight. In Wales, new Superdrugs are coming to Cwmbran Retail Park and Newport Retail Park.
Another 60 of Superdrug’s 780 stores across the UK and Ireland are to get refits in 2026.
“Superdrug continues to see strong demand for physical, experience-led retail, and our 2026 store opening programme is a clear vote of confidence in UK bricks & mortar retail,” said Superdrug property director Clare Jennings.
“By opening 30 stores, we’re not just increasing our footprint, we’re creating destinations that bring together beauty, healthcare and affordable treatments under one roof,” she added.
“Our customers want more than convenience. They want expertise, products and services they can trust, delivered in welcoming spaces within their local communities. This investment allows us to bring bigger, better Superdrug stores to more locations across the UK, unlocking more access to healthcare, beauty products and treatments, while creating hundreds of new jobs and long-term career opportunities.”
Shoppers will be able to explore latest beauty launches and receive treatments such as ear piercing, manicures and eyebrow threading at Superdrug Beauty Studios, according to the retailer. They will also be able to get tailored advice at luxury fragrance counters, visit nurse-led clinics for face-to-face healthcare services, and access healthcare guidance at pharmacies.
