The Range is upgrading its online marketplace with enhanced AI-powered capabilities in a new partnership with French software firm Mirakl.
The move will give third-party sellers new ways to advertise to the millions of visitors to the marketplace using targeted Mirakl Ads.
It will also improve seller onboarding, helping The Range expand the assortment while maintaining consistent product quality and service standards, according to the home & garden retailer.
Tesco ditched its former marketplace platform provider Marketplacer in a switch to Mirakl in October last year. Other retailers to use Mirakl’s marketplace tech include Boots, Superdrug, B&Q and Carrefour.
The Range launched its third-party marketplace in 2020, allowing sellers to offer their products alongside its core assortment. It now lists almost a million products in total, with third-party partners accounting for 45% of sales.
The marketplace attracted more than 200 million visits during 2025, while product views across the site grew 56% compared with the previous year, according to The Range.
“Our marketplace has played an important role in expanding the choice we can offer customers online,” said CDS Superstores CEO Alex Simpkin.
“Moving to Mirakl strengthens the technology behind that platform, giving us a more advanced and scalable system to support sellers, improve operational efficiency and continue growing our online offer.
“With more than 200 million visits to our website last year, this investment ensures we have the infrastructure in place to support continued e-commerce growth while delivering a better digital experience for customers.”
Mirakl chief customer officer Sophie Marchessou said: “The Range has built one of the UK’s most visited retail destinations, with a marketplace that already drives nearly half of its online sales.
“Mirakl gives them the infrastructure to scale that success further, by giving sellers powerful tools to manage their business on the platform and, through Mirakl Ads, targeted advertising to grow their sales.”
