The Whisky Exchange has announced the appointment of Natalie Tennent as its new MD.
Tennent will join the Pernod Ricard-owned spirits retailer in July from Berry Bros & Rudd, where she held the role of chief commercial officer.
In a 30-year career at the wine and spirits merchant, Tennent has held a variety of commercial, finance and operations roles including chief operating officer and MD, international.
Tennent was a “seasoned industry professional” who was well placed to “drive the next phase of growth” for The Whisky Exchange, the retailer said.
In her new role, she will oversee The Whisky Exchange, the company’s on-trade distribution arm Speciality Drinks, and its online auction platform Whisky Auction.
“We are delighted to have Natalie on board,” said Nicolas Oudinot, CEO of Pernod Ricard’s DTC unit. “With her extensive experience in international business development of fine wines and spirits, I am confident she will successfully lead the company on its journey to becoming the global destination for connoisseurs and enthusiasts of fine spirits.”
Meanwhile, after three years managing the transition of The Whisky Exchange into the Pernod Ricard ecosystem, deputy MD Olivier Gasperin is to return to Pernod Ricard HQ at the end of this month.
Oudinot added: “I would like to take the opportunity to thank Olivier Gasperin, deputy MD of The Whisky Exchange, who has been instrumental in the past three-and-a-half years in managing the integration of The Whisky Exchange into the Pernod Ricard group, while keeping the specificity of its DNA and a complete neutrality.”
Pernod Ricard acquired The Whisky Exchange in September 2021 from brothers Sukhinder and Rajbir Singh, who founded the London-headquartered business in 1999.
As well as a strong online presence, it operates physical stores in Covent Garden, London Bridge and Great Portland Street.
