Unitas says she has played a ‘pivotal role’ in strategically reviewing Unitas’s retail proposition

Unitas retail director Victoria Lockie is leaving the business after six months in the role, The Grocer can reveal.

Since her appointment in September, Lockie has played a “pivotal role” in strategically reviewing Unitas’s retail proposition, according to the buying group.

She oversaw its Plan for Profit scheme, which is a subscription service offering independent retailers business updates, rewards, and resources to help them succeed in the convenience market, including core range guides and promotional packages.

Unitas said she had made a significant impact by identifying strategic opportunities, developing her team and revitalising Unitas’s diversity, equity, and inclusion agenda.

Lockie is set to leave the business next month. It is understood she plans to take some time out before taking on a new challenge.

“I would like to thank Victoria for her hard work and commitment in the time that she has worked at Unitas,” said MD John Kinney. “We all wish her the best of luck with her next opportunity.”

Prior to working for the buying group, Lockie held various senior roles at Nisa for 12 years, including head of retail and head of key accounts.
