Myprotein Clear Whey Protein Water offers ‘a lighter, more refreshing and great-tasting alternative to traditional milk-based protein drinks’

Soft drinks supplier Nichols has partnered with THG to launch Myprotein Clear Whey Protein Water, a new ready-to-drink range designed to “tap into growing consumer demand for health, wellness and functional beverages”.

Under a newly inked, multi-year brand licence agreement, the Vimto owner will roll out Myprotein Clear Whey Protein Water in Vimto and Raspberry Lemon flavours in September (rsp: £2.99/500ml).

The NPD was designed to offer “a lighter, more refreshing and great-tasting alternative to traditional milk-based protein drinks”, said Nichols. Each bottle of the sugar-free drink contains 15g of clear whey protein, alongside “essential amino acids”.

The launch combined “Nichols’ expertise in soft drinks with Myprotein’s leadership in functional nutrition”, the London-listed soft drinks company claimed.

It builds on “strong consumer demand for Myprotein’s Vimto range”, which launched in 2021 with Vimto Clear Whey Protein but has since been expanded to include other sports nutrition products including creatine, collagen, pre-workout and gummies.

It comes with interest in functional drinks booming in the UK. Value sales of energy & sports drinks, functional juices, RTD coffee, drinking yoghurts, milk drinks, kefir, water, kombucha and other functional flavoured carbonates were now worth £5.8bn, Nichols said, citing NIQ data [52 we 16 May 2026].

“Functional drinks are currently one of the most exciting growth areas in soft drinks, as consumers increasingly look for products that combine great taste, refreshment and added benefits,” said Nichols CEO Andrew Milne. “Myprotein Clear Whey Protein Water has been developed to meet that demand, offering shoppers a lighter and more refreshing way to add protein into their day.”

Neil Mistry, CEO of THG Nutrition, added: “More and more consumers are looking to boost their protein intake, and functional drinks are becoming an increasingly important way for them to do so.

“As the UK’s leading clear whey brand, we’ve helped redefine how consumers think about protein, and Myprotein Clear Whey Protein Water answers that growing demand with an easy, refreshing way to add protein throughout the day.”
