Vinarchy Bag-in-Box wines

Vinarchy overhauled its bag-in-box wine offer last October

Vinarchy has added two new bag-in-box wines to tap growing demand for the format.

The global wine manufacturer has rolled out Echo Falls Summer Berries Fruit Fusion and Jam Shed Sauvignon Blanc in 1.5-litre boxed formats (rsps: £10.75-£14.75).

Echo Falls has launched in Tesco and Sainsbury’s, while Jam Shed is in 370 Sainsbury’s stores. The former offered “vibrant, tropical aromatics” while the latter delivered “a bold and juicy profile” that was “tailor-made for easy summer drinking”, said Vinarchy.

Boxed wine sales in the UK were up 35% year on year and “booming”, according to the supplier [NIQ 52 w/e 14 June 2025]. That growth was being driven by sauvignon blanc wines – up 46% in the 1.5-litre format, and Jam Shed – up 4.8% to £8.5m, Vinarchy said.

“With summer in full swing, we’re excited to bring even more choice to shoppers who are looking for great-tasting, convenient or accessible wine,” said Tom Smith, Vinarchy marketing director for Europe. “We know consumers love the fruit-forward flavour profiles of Jam Shed and Echo Falls, and now they can enjoy them in a format that’s all about ease and enjoyment.”

Vinarchy overhauled its bag-in-box wine offer last October in a bid to tackle poor consumer perception of the format.

Its new bag-in-box wine packaging is 26% smaller and 13.6% lighter than previous iterations.

The new packaging also contains a logo displaying the colour of the wine inside, and an explanation that it keeps wine fresh for up to six weeks after opening, and contains the equivalent of two regular glass bottles of wine.
