Windmill Organics has added a range of HFSS-compliant protein puffs and three kombuchas across its brand portfolio.
ProFusion Protein Puffs (rsp: £1.99/40g) have debuted in Paprika & Himalayan Salt and Lemon & Black Pepper, with more variants to come.
They deliver 10g of plant-based protein per pack and are billed as a “clean, healthier alternative” to crisps, with no artificial additives.
Two canned kombuchas (rsp: £2.39/250ml) – Peach and Apple & Blackberry – have been introduced under Windmill Organics’ Raw Vibrant Living brand.
Meanwhile, “lightly sparkling” Passionfruit & Lemon Kombucha (rsp: £3.39/330ml), packaged in a glass bottle, has launched under the Biona Organic brand.
“Protein and functional drinks remain two of the most dynamic areas in grocery, with retailers increasingly looking for options that meet HFSS requirements and respond to growing scrutiny around ultra-processed foods,” said Windmill Organics head of marketing Gemma Williams.
“Our new ProFusion Protein Puffs bring organic, whole food protein into the mainstream crisp aisle, while our kombucha range allows retailers to premiumise soft drinks with organic, low-sugar options that align with demand for gut health and clean-label credentials.”
Biona entered ambient ready meals in January with the addition of a trio of jarred dishes made with beans.
Inspired by world cuisines, the range spans Bean Chilli Mexican Style, Chickpea Coconut Curry Indian Style, and Chickpea Tagine Moroccan Style (all rsp: £3.49/350g).
