Wingstop UK is to expand across Liverpool with a second site, advancing the chicken chain’s growth plans.
Building on the success of its Liverpool One restaurant, which launched earlier this year, Wingstop is now opening a new 3,305 sq ft site in Edge Lane’s Liverpool Shopping Park.
It will host 115 covers and features the chain’s full menu of wings, tenders, burgers and sides.
“Hot off the heels of our Liverpool One launch, we’re thrilled to keep up with demand by opening a second location at Liverpool Shopping Park,” said Wingstop UK CEO Chris Sherriff.
”The city’s youthful energy, vibrant culture and iconic music scene make it the ideal spot to fuel our fast-paced growth,” he added. ”Thank you to our incredible team and the loyal Liverpool community who make it all possible – we can’t wait to bring even more flavour to the north west.”
It marks the latest in a string of openings this year, including Wingstop’s fifth site in Leeds at The Springs retail and leisure centre just last month.
In what has been a “record year of expansion”, the restaurant now operates 74 sites across the UK and employs over 3,000 people. It plans to grow to as many as 200 sites within the next five years.
