Traditional sweetshop Hope & Greenwood is the latest brand to launch a ‘shop within a shop’ on the Ocado website.

Since Monday, the sweetie brand has been selling a number of “core lines” in a scaled-down version of its standalone website on a microsite incorporated into the Ocado site.

“There was a lot of creative input in the build,” said Hope & Greenwood chief executive Richard Ruddy.

“We present our products differently from other confectionery manufacturers we have a different slant on things, which we are very proud of, as we feel it is a real point of difference for us. The goal is to bring something different to Ocado’s food cupboard category.”

The Ocado website now has several areas devoted to brands in key selling areas. These include Coca-Cola, Young’s, WeightWatchers, Dove Spa and Daylesford Organics.

Ruddy added that Hope & Greenwood Christmas sales were “fantastic” with “a sales uplift of around 30%”.

“We had some excellent gift sets and have just launched some seasonal variations for Easter.”
