The weather has been so hot that cramming ice cream into one’s face is no longer enough. We’re now at the point where we need some ice cream for the mind.

Fortunately, such an experience is available at the British Museum of Food, which has just unveiled new exhibition SCOOP: A Wonderful Ice Cream World.

As well as the glow in the dark ice cream (pictured), there’s a machine that interprets the brainwaves of ice cream eaters, historical characters offer lessons on making it, and you can even sniff a wall of flavours. The museum promises a look at ‘the dark side of desserts’, too.

It’s educational, of course. You can learn about the history of ice cream advertising - but if that turns out to be boring there’s a hundreds and thousands machine!

If you’re not excited by this, your soul is broken. The exhibition is open until 30 September.
