She’s not the first movie star to have been raised from the dead by adland – Volkswagen exhumed Gene Kelly in 2005 – but Audrey Hepburn is the most beloved yet.

So, is this new Galaxy ad callous exploitation or the perfect celeb-brand match? In 1950s Salerno, Ms Hepburn sits on a delayed bus, before batting her considerable eyelashes at a passing hunk and hopping into his car. They drive off, nibbling Galaxy under the returned ‘why have cotton when you can have silk?’ slogan.

Soundtrack, setting and star are undeniably beautiful, and it’s even possible to see past the hint-of-Tussauds CGI. But there’s nothing special enough here to justify Hepburn’s return, and the flavour of distaste lingers longer than chocolate ever could.
