Appleby Westward MD Mark McCammond is leaving the business to become retail director of Henderson Group, it has been announced.
McCammond, who joined Spar distributor Appleby Westward in 2011, will leave the business this September to take up the role of retail director at NI Spar wholesaler, Henderson Group.
He previously spent eight years at Henderson’s as retail director before leaving to become a regional MD for Sainsbury’s convenience division in 2009, where he was responsible for 159 stores.
“The Board wishes to thank Mark for the excellent and professional service he has provided to the company and wish him the very best in the next phase of his career,” said Appleby Westward chairman Leo Crawford.
“Appleby Westward has experienced strong top line and bottom line growth under Mark’s stewardship and is well positioned for further growth into the future,” he added.
McCammond will continue in his current role until mid-September. Headhunters Tony Gregg Partnership is handling the search for his replacement.
”We are delighted to welcome back Mark McCammond as Retail Director, after a five year absence from the company,” said a spokeswoman for Henderson Group.
McCammond will replace Nigel Gray and will be responsible for the management and operation of the group’s 76 company-owned stores throughout Northern Ireland, she added.
