Continental cheese supplier Futura Foods has appointed a new MD after Danish dairy company Nordex took a 44% stake in the business.
Kenneth Axen, previously head of Nordex’s retail, foodservice and industry unit, takes over from Futura’s previous MD, Neil Burchell, with immediate effect.
Axen has worked for Nordex, on and off, since 1999, with a five-year stint at Aldi Germany from 2003 to 2008.He will relocate to Cheltenham in August.
“I look forward to learning more about the UK retail market,” Axen said. “This will be new to me and Nordex, and We are keen to see what possibilities there are to increase the range of white cheeses in the UK.”
