Hangry Louisa Wilkinson

What was your first job? In my school holidays I would help out at my mother’s nursery school’s holiday clubs. I loved getting involved in all the activities.

What’s been your worst job interview? I went for a job in sales and was asked the old ‘sell this pen to me’ question. I thought I’d done a good job, then they proceeded to tell me with gusto why I hadn’t.

What was the first music single you bought? Wannabe by the Spice Girls.

How do you describe your job to your mates? I create, market and sell healthy snacks using far too many puns, while teaching yoga on the side.

What is the most rewarding part of your job? Being my own boss. I love that I get to activate ideas quickly without having to go through a lot of red tape.

What is the least rewarding part? Having all the responsibility.

What is your motto in life? Kill it with kindness.

Do you have any phobias? Parking on hills - I fear the handbrake will fail.

If you were allowed one dream perk, what would it be? To travel more in order to research new wellness ideas and eco-friendly alternatives, with the odd yoga retreat thrown in.

If you could change one thing in grocery, what would it be? Plastic bags should be banned altogether. Instead of the 5p plastic bag, a cotton or other reusable bag should be the only one offered to purchase. It would probably be more expensive to buy, but better for the environment and would add further incentive for customers to bring their own bags.

What luxury would you have on a desert island? Spotify. I can’t imagine not having any music in my life.

What animal most reflects your personality? A lion. I’m not so nice when I’m hangry, but otherwise rather cat-like.

What’s your favourite film and why? The Jungle Book. It was the first video my grandfather ever bought and we used to it watch it together.

Which celebrity would you most like to work with and why? David Attenborough. Firstly, because he is my hero and secondly, he’d make a great voiceover for a series of Hangry adverts. If you’re reading this David, get in touch.
