Taylor has a tough brief - secure at least 60 perfect sites a year and more if possible. Aldi plans to open 83 stores in 2016. It wants 1,000 by 2022. Aldi’s biggest problem is that it is missing out on sales because it can’t open stores fast enough. However, unlike Lidl it has placed no particular focus on the South East, meaning Taylor has far more of the UK to aim at.
