Works at: Mars

Job Title: European head of dairy procurement

If you work at Mars, and they trust you to buy the cocoa, the sweeteners and the dairy (or what Mars calls the top three commodities) you know you’re doing OK. Peacock, however, is doing better than OK. She has also held roles in strategy, HR and licensing after being invited to join Mars’ global management development programme in 2006. The programme aims to equip future leaders with the skills they need to reach the top. Its prestigious record of success is a measure of how effective it is. Peacock believes she has found her “home” as a buyer in procurement, although her nomination predicted she would keep rising fast. “One of Mars’ best, Emma has soared up the ranks through Mars’ highly competitive zonal scheme and is tipped for future success,” it read. When you look at her achievements so far, it’s hard to argue with that.
