Phoenix Agro launches range of ready-made curry sauces

The existing sauces are all gluten-free and vegetarian

A new supplier is targeting independent retailers and mults with a range of ready-made curry sauces.

Phoenix Agro has set up a manufacturing facility in Witney, Oxfordshire, that it claims has the capacity to produce 2.5 million pouches of its Flavours of India sauce brand a year.

The company has secured a listing with Booker from next month and the sauces will be available from five of its depots within the M25. It is also in discussions with the multiples.

The initial range comprises five vegetarian and gluten-free sauces - makhani, kadhai, masala, jalfrezi and madras (rsp: £1.99) - but the business plans to expand the range with further lines.
