Viocreme is made from a blend of coconut and rapeseed oils, and goes on sale this week

Upfield has continued to swell its Violife range with the launch of new vegan dairy cream alternative Viocreme.

The NPD (rsp:£1.50), debuts in Asda and on Ocado this week and follows the launch of butter substitutes Vioblock, and Viospread in recent months.

Made from a blend of coconut and rapeseed oils, lentil protein, natural flavour, beet sugar and rock salt, Violspread was suitable for cooking, baking, topping and pouring, the brand said.

“100% vegan, Viocreme can be enjoyed by everyone and, as it largely emulates the properties of dairy cream, it is truly versatile,” said Violife senior marketing manager Bianca Harris.

“We’re excited to now offer a fuller dairy alternative range, beyond cheese alternatives, to flexitarians, vegans or vegetarians searching for plant-based dairy products that taste and act like the real thing.”

The product is also free from soya, gluten, lactose, nuts, preservatives and emulsifiers.

The latest announcement also comes as Violife prepares to roll out Le Rond, a camembert-flavoured vegan cheese alternative fortified with vitamin B12, into Waitrose this week.
