Slimmers’ stalwart Findus Lean Cuisine brand is making a mid September comeback with new ranges, new recipes and revamped packaging. The six strong Classic range comprises six 97% fat free versions of Findus favourites, including Chicken Curry and Rice; Macaroni Cheese; Lean Beef Lasagne; Spaghetti Bolognese; Chicken Tikka Masala; and Chilli Con Carne (rsp from 99p). New Chicken Italiana with Pesto Tagliatelle  egg pasta and chicken pieces in creamy tomato, basil and sweet pepper sauce  joins the Select range. Other Select recipes  Chicken à L’Orange, Glazed Chicken and Lemon Chicken and Rice are upgraded (rsp around £1.99). An advertising campaign in slimming and women’s magazines is planned for later this year to run into prime winter dieting time in 2001. The range, now in white boxes, was launched originally in 1985.This is the first full Findus range relaunch since the company became independent from Nestlé in January 2000, and the company admits there is room for improvement. “In its early years, Lean Cuisine created a whole new market segment,” said business development manager Darren Grivvell. “But during the ’90s, the brand lost its way. Winning trial is our priority.” {{P&P }}
