Ennis Foods is throwing its Rumblers brand into the snacking arena with a range of snack and dips packs.

The Ireland-based company is making its first move outside its all-in-one breakfast cereal and milk bowls to launch ambient Chips’N’Dip - a range of packs containing a savoury snack and dip with a 42-day shelf life.

Retailing at around 99p each, only one variant - Mini Tortillas and Salsa - is in production so far and is currently being farmed out through foodservice channels. However, three more - including another Tortilla variant and two Poppadum products - are waiting in the wings depending on the outcome of talks over listings. Ennis already has relationships with several
major retailers, including Tesco and Sainsbury’s, which stock its Rumblers breakfast bowls.

If successful, the extension would be another landmark in Ennis’ development.

The business, based in Donegal, Ireland, currently employs 22 staff.

National account manager Frank Butler said: “This is our first non-breakfast product and we have great hopes for it.

“We are also looking at bringing out some fruit products early next year which would be pots of fruit with yogurt.”
