Former professional rugby player Chris Capaldi is set to appear on TV screens after being crowned as the new face of Scotch Beef.

He was unveiled as the new Glen - the name of the rugged and bekilted Highlander who has been used to promote Scottish beef for the past six years - at last week's Highland Show. He will figure in a £1m promotional drive targeting consumers in London and the Midlands.

"Since he was first introduced in 2001, Glen has helped raise Scots' awareness of the Scotch Beef brand to unprecedented levels," claimed QMS chairman Donald Biggar.
