Müller Dairy has a new sales director for its UK operation, replacing David Potts who has left after 17 years.

Colin Smith, who starts on 20 November, joins from InBev where he has been director of sales for retail grocers since January 2005.

He started his career in the food and drink industry in 1994 as a development manager for Mars.

He later progressed to NAM, before joining RHM and later Bulmers, where he held the position of sales director for the take home division.

In his new role at Müller Dairy, Smith will now be responsible for managing Müller's sales across all of its UK channels, including multiples, convenience stores, independents, out

of home, as well as customer marketing.

"With more than 12 years' experience, Colin will bring a strong understanding of the retail grocery sector to his role as sales director," said chief executive Stewart Gilliland. "Colin's ability to produce outstanding results will prove valuable to our business."

Meanwhile, Chris McDonough, Müller marketing and R&D director, has taken on full commercial responsibility for Ireland as general manager, in addition to his current duties. He takes up his new responsibilities immediately.?
