Scottish ice cream producer Mackie's is hoping to give Calippo a run for its money this summer with a frozen smoothie ice lolly aimed at kids.
The company has teamed up with drinks company The Big J to introduce to the market two flavours - blueberry and raspberry, and mango and orange - that transfer the healthy credentials of smoothies to the freezer cabinet.
The lollies are made using 100% fruit juice and contribute to the recommended daily intake of five fruit and vegetables a day. They come in 60ml 'squeeze-up' tubes (rsp: £1.99 for three) and contain 47 calories and 0.4g of fat.
