Iced teas and coffees have been held up as the star performers in the soft drinks market for the second year running.

The annual Britvic Soft Drinks Report, published this week, revealed that products dubbed ‘cold hot drinks’ had grown 45% year-on-year. At £21.6m, the sub-sector represents just 0.3% of the total soft drinks market, but suppliers are encouraged by the strong performance.

“Soft drinks are all about taste and refreshment and these certainly deliver that,” said Britvic customer management director Murray Harris.

The Soft Drinks Report showed that the total soft drinks market had grown 1% by volume year-on-year, with raw materials driving a 7% value hike.
