One of the British success stories of the show was ‘chill-out’ drink Lull, which attracted global interest.

Launched in the UK during the summer, the sparkling soft drink is made from kiwi and berries and has botanical extracts designed to relax the consumer. It is the brainchild of Claire Lettice, who has worked in marketing and advertising and set up The Botanical Drinks Co last year to develop a herbal tea that could be served cold.

“A lot of my marketing work had involved NPD and I thought I could do it myself,” she said. “The response to the product has been fantastic at Anuga. Buyers from the Far East particularly liked the branding and I’ve had enquiries from countries including China and Mongolia.”

Lettice is now sending trial cases of Lull overseas, but said the real excitement will come when she receives orders for pallets of the product.
