The drinks hit the retailer from 8 November

Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews’ non-alcoholic spirits startup CleanCo has scored a national listing with Tesco.

Two of its gin alternatives, Clean G and Clean G Pink – which is exclusive to the retailer – rolled into 700 stores today (8 November) (rsp: £19/700ml).

Clean G, the brand’s non-alcoholic take on London Dry Gin, is billed as having a “crisp, botanic flavour”. The Pink edition, meanwhile, is claimed to capture a “complementary combination of mixed red berries”.

They offered “an equally enjoyable experience to full-strength spirits”, claimed CleanCo.

“Tesco is a national titan of British supermarkets, which sees millions of people all across the country consistently visit for their grocery shop,” said Spencer Matthews.

“So for CleanCo to secure a nationwide listing with Tesco is an incredibly exciting prospect for us, as it supports our mission to give more people more choice when it comes to alcohol consumption.”

The launch will be supported by nationwide in-store sampling on 10 December.

It comes after the startup recently unveiled plans to enter the US market.

In October, Matthews announced he had partnered with newly launched US drinks company Demeter & Co to “build a global brand at speed”.

The US launch would set the brand up to achieve sales of more than 50,000 nine-litre cases across the UK and US in 2021, said CleanCo.
