Acquisitive Inter Link Foods is pushing ahead with the purchase of premium cake company William Lusty. Inter Link took effective control of the company at the start of June, after acquiring the option to buy in December 1999. Jeremy Hamer, chairman of Inter Link said: "William Lusty is now trading profitably and new product listings should enhance performance further. We are confident that during this current financial year William Lusty should produce turnover in excess of £3.5m." Lancashire based Inter Link Foods, which this year acquired Hepworth & Whittles bakery, Cakes for the Connoisseur and The Creative Cake Company, will pay a total of £400,000 for William Lusty. Its other bakery businesses include Maid Marion Bakeries and Lisa Bakeries. {{NEWS }}
