Tesco and M and S play along with new logistics-based board game

Free copies of the game are being offered to schools

Tesco and M&S are backing a new board game based on supply chain logistics that “teaches children about business issues while they play”.

To play Business on the Move, players have to navigate their way through supply chain challenges presented by freight, profit, assets, balance sheets, logistics and globalisation. The game also emphasises the importance of environmental issues.

It was developed by The Very Enterprising Community Interest Company, which has raised 90% of the funding needed for launch and plans to distribute free games to schools.

Partners include RBS, Tesco, Marks & Spencer and Network Rail, and it is now looking to raise the remainder of the investment from other retailers, who will be able to insert their corporate branding into the game.

“By being featured in Business on the Move, our partners will be aligning their business with the education of our young people and highlighting their concern for the environment,” said co-developer Andy Page.

“The game offers a novel way to celebrate corporate social responsibility, reinforcing business reputation with key partners and networks.”
