A Scottish processors is hoping to carve out a niche in the convenience market with the launch of a new beef product. AK Stoddart has launched its Thinly Sliced Scotch Beef Steaks into Costco outlets through the UK. They are sold under the Specially Selected Scotch brand.
The product, which is cooked from frozen and ready in minutes, is also low in fat, containing less than 5%, the company claimed.
Lucy Husband, sales and marketing manager with AK Stoddart, said: "We believe this product will prove extremely popular as a quality but quick main meal for all the family."
