Nestlé plans a revival for its stalwart biscuit brand Blue Riband with the launch of a new snacking product. But it's not a repackaging or a repositioning of the brand ­ it's moving into new territory to get people to reappraise the brand and their past experience of it. Blue Riband Munchy Bites come in 125g cartons containing individual light crisp biscuity pieces. They come in three flavours: original (milk chocolate), white chocolate and orange. The packs are pricemarked 99p and should be available for ordering by April 9 and on shelves by the end of April. They are pitched as an everyday biscuit snack, perfect for a night in front of the telly. Advertising support includes radio and poster ads in May. Information Resources data shows value sales of £14.3m for Blue Riband in the year toJanuary 28 2001, a rise of 5.7% year on year. {{MARKETING - P&P }}
