The drinks have been inspired by three Dahl’s books, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, The BFG, plus The Giraffe and the Pelly and Me, and come in three mixed fruit flavours: Frobscottle Swiggle, Oompa Loompa Cocktail and Sherbet Slurper.

The Big J will promote the drinks’ health credentials on the basis that they have no added sugar, additives or preservatives and naturally contain vitamins C and D. Each 250ml carton also equates to one portion of the 5-a-day campaign.
“We believe the fond and timeless associations of the Roald Dahl brand will not only grab mum’s attention but appeal to a whole new generation of young Dahl devotees,” said The Big J MD Josephine Carpenter.
The range will be available from next month (rsp: 59p for a 250ml carton) and has listings in Sainsbury and Boots.
